Cleaning and accessibility

The well thought out design of the machines allows fast, safe access for cleaning and maintenance. The Quick Snap System present on many models allows access without the use of specialised tools. On larger models, the hopper and screen cradle may be operated hydraulically, allowing fast access for cleaning and knife changes.
Cutting knives are adjusted outside of the machine and preset in a special jig. Knives are then installed in the machine without the need for adjustment saving machine downtime during maintenance.
The unique design features of ZERMA granulators ensure reduced downtime during material changes and maintenance procedures.

Industry solutions

ZERMA granulators may be tailored to suit specific customer requirements. Special feed hoppers, roller feeds or tilting systems may be supplied on most models.Granulators may be equipped with sound insulated panels or enclosures for reduced noise emission.
In order to achieve high quality regrind, metal separators and fines removal systems may be integrated on request. For abrasive materials, specially developed wear protection is available for the ZERMA range.

Rotors and cutting geometry

"V"-cut rotor design for optimum cutting performance. ZERMA Granulators are generally equipped with "V"-cut rotors. The "V"-cut arrangement of the rotary cutting knives holds material in the centre of the rotor, reducing wear on the side walls and the tendency of material to plasticise. The "V"-cut design is also beneficial in that blade wear is more even and bearing load is equally distributed. Depending on application, Granulators may also be equipped with single scissor or double scissor cross cut rotors. The efficient cutting action of ZERMA scissor cut rotors ensure clean cut granules, less fines and reduced noise emission.

S-Rotor from the aggressive cutting action of the 3 knife rotor through to the 9 knife closed rotor for lumps and purgings.

K-Rotor forged solid steel rotor ¨C suitable for the heaviest lumps and most difficult materials.
